Glenn McCrory Fundraiser for Atexia UK

  • The Black Horse 68 Front Street Whitley Bay, England, NE25 8DP United Kingdom (map)

On Thursday 27th September The Black Horse and former World Cruiserweight Boxing Champion Glenn McCrory will be raising funds for Ataxia UK in an action packed night in Monkseaton.

The evening will feature memorabilia auctions, raffles, Q&A's with Glenn and other North East Boxing personalities hosted by North East journo legend John Gibson.

There will also be a Motown Disco thrown in for good measure too!

Glenn is getting ready for a journey of a lifetime, as he prepares to climb Mount Kilimajaro in October.

Glenn said of his fundraising for Ataxia, "Friedreich's Ataxia is a condition I know very well, having watched my younger brother David suffer from this debilitating disease his whole life.

He sadly passed away in 1996 at 29 years old. He was a truly inspirational young man, who never gave up and inspired me every day to become champion of the world in boxing. It is in his honor that I accepted this challenge, suggested to me by a very brave young Welshman Geraint Williams who suffers from the same condition and who will be accompanying me on the trek.

Our aim is to raise as much money as possible to help fund research into finding a cure for this disease, and to raise awareness".

The Black Horse invites YOU ALL to attend this very special FREE ENTRY evening, packed with entertainment and fun. We will be kicking off proceedings at 7PM! We very much hope to greet you all there on the night.
